Shaw Shooting

Welcome to Shaw Shooting

The Shaw Shooting curriculum teaches our students how to simply shoot faster, to be more accurate, and to utilize the manipulation of their weapons in the most efficient manner possible.

Pistol class

The class will begin with the absolute basic fundamentals. Safety, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, controlling recoil, and managing recoil will all be thoroughly addressed. The class will start off by predominantly shooting close-range paper targets to ensure direct bullet impact awareness and correct shooting fundamentals.  The class will advance through the steel ranges as the class progresses its ability.

Rifle class

The class will be focused on detailed fundamentals which include SAFETY, sling adjustment, grips, sight-in, rifle set-up, presentations (low ready and high ready), combat reloads, tactical reloads, recoil control/management.  After the students can demonstrate proper and safe gun handling fundamentals, the main live fire portion will begin with shooting close-range paper targets to ensure accurate bullet impact awareness and correct shooting fundamentals.  The class will advance through the steel ranges as the class progresses its ability.

Pistol & Rifle Combination

Students will be taught weapons handling to gain fluid transitions between pistol to rifle and rifle to pistol.  Seven drills of "Operator Standards" are taught to each student, with each drill having a required hit under an allotted time limit.  The drills will be used on steel ranges ingraining technique into your pistol/rifle shooting.  The class will advance through the steel ranges as the class progresses its ability.  This class is the highest level of weapons training offered to the citizen sector. A student can maintain a challenging curriculum even when enrolling multiple times. The new drills and steel ranges will be varying from class to class.
